Munising, Michigan, Upper Pennisula

My wife and I stopped in Munising, Michigan, Upper Peninsula on our way to Mackinac City.  We were able to get a room at the Holiday Inn Express, which is at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Superior.  Our room was on the third floor facing Lakeside.  The view from the balcony off our room was absolutely amazing.  We felt like it was well worth the upgrade price.   A very good dinner was delivered by Main Street Pizza, which allowed more time to sit and enjoy the extraordinary view.  The East Channel Lighthouse, on Grand Island, was able to be seen with our binoculars.   Breakfast was included in the price, but was standard fare for a chain hotel.  This was one of the most relaxing places we stayed at during the entire trip.  Tour guides in Munising also offer boat tours to Picture Rocks National Park.
